Report of the training workshop on agricultural innovation systems (AIS) ASARECA

The Knowledge Management & Up-scaling Program (KMUS) of ASARECA assigned ILRI to conduct a training on Agricultural Innovation Systems (AIS) for the Dissemination of New Agricultural Technologies in Africa' (DONATA) program. The aim was to guide DONATA project's staff and partners in understanding applying the concepts through their Innovation Platforms for Technologies in Agriculture (IPTAs). The projects were the Transfer and dissemination of proven and emerging technologies in orange fleshed sweet potatoes (OFSP) and the Transfer and dissemination of proven and emerging technologies in quality protein maize (QPM).

Announcement International Symposium on agricultural development - in the EAC partners states Kilimo Trust

By December, 2013, all the EAC partner states will have celebrated 50 years since independence. To commemorate this period, Kilimo Trust together with the EAC Secretariat and ASARECA are organizing an International Symposium on Agriculture (ISA) to be held from 4th to 8th November, 2013 at Serena Hotel Kampala, under the theme Agricultural Development in the EAC: lessons from the past 50 years and prospects for the future. The symposium will aim to articulate an EAC Regional Vision of Agriculture for the future as a modern and vibrant sector that fully takes advantage of the region's endowment with resources (youthful population, arable land, water and now the realization of oil and gas) coupled with the ever increasing global demand for food and agricultural products.
